Looks amazing. My only (whiny/picky) critique is that I sort of wish that “2008″ wasn’t printed. But I understand that the nature of the piece relies on connecting trends to a date.

You should do a version in Japanese. Great work!

I love the Trend Map, but I think that there’s too noise to signal. I would just let everybody know when its ready.

Nicely done. The folks at eBay’s Toys building have an enormous (about 4′ x 8′) copy of last year’s map up in their space. We’re jealous! Not certain that this comment is the right place to do it, but put us down for an order too.

@Pierre: To stay in touch and get informed when the poster is ready, sign up for our newsletter. Right now we will have to wait what happens with the Yahoo-Microsoft deal before we print anything.

@Everyone that wants to print the poster: Until it’s done we’d rather not have you print this. I know it’s obnoxious to prevent people from printing, but the key on the bottom is still exemplary and there are too many mistakes on the map.

On the clickable map, linux (M-9) goes to linux.org, which actually complains that you should be going to their “proper” site http://www.linux.org instead.

Maybe they should just set up a CNAME reference instead??

    Hi,

the map is such a great job. People really love it in our office. But in our point of view the big B2C E-Commerce retailers are not listed. We (The OTTO Group) for example are behind Amazon the second biggest retailer wordlwide with a 6 billion $ sales volume (only online!). Would be great if we can find this name on the map. For further informations just visit http://www.ottogroup.com.

    besides, well done! Alex
