Adam,

Did you read this article?

With some imagination one can get fans to subscribe to a lot of services without touring. Also, the music industry doesn't need to die. They just decide to complain instead of innovating.

How much would you pay for a suscription to Radiohead's studio recordings? Why don't they publish their (so far failed) stuff and get some feedback from their fans? The Internet is an incredibly inspirational medium for those who are courageous enough to use it as it is.

How is a recording musician (someone who does not or cannot tour) expected to be paid for his recordings, when people are able to eliminate the middle man (recording industry pimps) and rip off the musician directly?

Thanks for the input Joran. Actually the left subheadings are not gone. The idea is to have one word left sided headings and rightsided text-blocks.

The left sided words and short notes were ok, but the text blocks were kind of annoying.

Great article of course. Noticed the new site layout. Prefer the subheadings on the left and right-ragged as opposed to justified. right-ragged gives the eye a hook to rest on at the end of the line, and helps scannability. Justified creates a wall of text. I learnt that from your old site!

Interesting stuff.

If you're going to compete with the lowest-price then design isn't the industry for you.

People expect to pay more for a better service. If you price yourself too low your prospective client will think you don't do a decent job.

Value your skills.

You get what you pay for.
